Mission, Vision, Values
The mission of Renovate Church is to engage the emerging culture in ways that re-present Jesus Christ.
By “re-present” we mean that the church (all believers) are continually presenting Jesus Christ to the world. We also recognize that many presentations of Jesus by imperfect people haven’t been the best (scandals, manipulation, cults). So we seek to also give a new presentation of Jesus to the world. “Re-present” has a double meaning! (Aren’t we clever??)
The vision of Renovate Church is that people would believe in Christ and mature as Christ followers, demonstrated by loving God more, loving people more, and serving others more.
The daily demonstration of maturity comes from Galatians 5:22, and is called the Fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These qualities come only from a continuous relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit, not us just trying harder to be something we aren’t. At Renovate Church, we value:
Open Books – only through Radical Authenticity and Transparency can we be as real as possible in every aspect of our lives. We seek to be honest about ourselves, each other, and church matters
The World Around Us – through understanding the people and culture around us, we will Communicate the timeless truths of Christ in our daily lives and church ministries in ways that are as Current as today’s news
The Death of the One-Man-Band – instead of one person doing a ton of things, we’ll do the exact opposite. Through Simplicity with Excellence, we will focus our ministries in a few areas that we (as a church) can be really good at.
Each other – we seek to build the Community of Renovate by following Christ and doing life together, and we Serve the community around us by meeting the practical needs of others.
